SLP #0004: Learning to See in 35mm
This week didn’t go the way I expected.
I set out to continue my experiment of learning to see in 35mm, but the reality of the week looked different than the plan. Between work, family time, and trying to be present in the moments that matter most, I didn’t pick up the camera nearly as much as I thought I would.
At first it felt like I failed the experiment.
But when I looked back through the few photos I did take, I was surprised to find six or seven images I was genuinely happy with. Not because they were perfect, but because they showed signs that the experiment is working.
This episode is about that tension between creativity and life, the resistance that shows up when we try to build something meaningful, and the realization that progress often looks different than we expect.
Next week’s experiment shifts direction: one photo a day.
Not perfection — just consistency.
